Description
Metal core PCB (also known as MCPCB) is kind of PCB with metal base material instead of woven glass FR4, FR3 or others. Aluminium based copper clad laminate PCB has excellent flame retardant, high mechanical strength, dimensional stability. It has very good heat sink, electromagnetic shielding and solder float. It is widely used for power LED and power supply. The material is particularly suited for population with surface mounted devices. Through hole components are not appropriate because the metal base material is not an insulator.
